Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Cornerstone McAllen Concrete and Masonry website and any work you hire us to do. By using this site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Cornerstone McAllen Concrete and Masonry, and "you" means the person using the site or hiring us. A signed estimate or written agreement for a specific job wins over these terms where the two differ.
What we do
We're a masonry contractor in McAllen, TX. We do concrete and masonry work for homes in McAllen and the cities around it, including foundation repair, brick and chimney repair, tuckpointing, pavers, retaining walls, block and brick walls, stone work, fireplaces and outdoor kitchens. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about our crew on our about page.
What's on this site is general information about our work. It isn't advice for your particular house, because every job depends on what we find once we see it in person. The scope of your job is whatever your written estimate or agreement says.
Estimates and pricing
We give free on-site estimates, and asking for one puts you under no obligation. An estimate is our price for the work as we understand it on the day we look at it, based on what we can see and what you tell us.
Masonry jobs sometimes turn up things nobody could see beforehand, like a cracked footing under a wall, rotten backing behind brick or soil that won't hold a base. If that happens, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain the options and the cost before we do any extra work. We won't charge for added work you haven't approved.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material prices and our schedule may have changed, so we may need to update it before we start.
Scheduling, delays and cancellations
We'll agree on a start date with you once you accept an estimate. That date is our best plan, not a promise, because rain, heat, material deliveries, permit timing and conditions on site can move it. Concrete and mortar also need the right weather to set properly, so we won't pour or lay in conditions that would hurt the work. If the schedule changes, we'll let you know as soon as we can.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (956) 331-0202 as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, you may owe us for those materials and the work done up to that point. Your written agreement spells out any cancellation terms for your job.
Payment
Payment terms for each job are set out in your estimate or agreement, including any deposit, progress payments and when the final balance is due. Unless your agreement says otherwise, the final balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's caught up. You agree to pay reasonable costs we incur to collect an unpaid balance, to the extent Texas law allows.
Our work and what we stand behind
We're licensed and fully insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the job isn't right, call us, and we'll come look at it and work with you to make it right.
Beyond what's written in your agreement, we don't make other promises about our work, materials or this website, whether stated or implied, to the extent the law allows. Materials we install carry whatever warranty their maker offers, and we'll pass along those details when they apply.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, such as soil movement, flooding, tree roots, settling of parts of the house we didn't work on, misuse, or changes and repairs made by someone else after we finish.
Limits on our liability
To the extent Texas law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your property, lost income or other costs that don't come directly from our work. Our total responsibility for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We're also not responsible for how you use the general information on this website, or for any outside sites it links to. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Working out a disagreement
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, please talk to us first. Most issues get sorted out quickly once we're standing at the job together. You can reach us by phone or through our contact page.
If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try in good faith to resolve it, which can include mediation, before either of us goes to court.
Which law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any legal action about them will be brought in the courts that serve Hidalgo County, Texas, unless the law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a job already covered by a signed agreement unless we both agree in writing.
If one part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Questions about these terms
If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book. Call (956) 331-0202 or reach us through our contact page, and we'll walk you through it. We reply within 1 business day.
